RCSS asks government to hold political talks

Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) is requested the government on January 29 to hold political talks which involved all concerned groups to have peace which is desired by all people in Myanmar.

The 19th annual meeting of the RCSS held at Loi Tai Leng headquarters from January 27 to 29 and the RCSS asked for it in the announcement.

It said the RCSS will join hand with the government, army, political parties and ethnic armed groups to end peace process successfully and it will negotiate with the ethnic armed groups to build the unity between all ethnics.

The RCSS said they objected the accusation included in the announcement made by the army on January 25 and they will announce the clarifications in concerned with the accusation later.

It said some facts included in second union level ceasefire agreement signed in Kengtung on May 19 2012 are the main obstacles to implement the agreement and the army and RCSS have different understanding to recognize territory for headquarters.

Moreover only 60 RCSS members can assign at Monghta to provide security and they cannot take field trip to analyze the territory for the headquarters.

According to an informal meeting between the RCSS and National Reconciliation and Peace Council (NRPC) held Chiang Mai, Thailand, they arranged to meet in first week of February but it is coincidence with the celebration of Shan National Day and the RCSS needs time to explain about it in their group, announced the RCSS.

The annual meeting of the RCSS announced they will try to do education, health, transportation, water, electricity, and agriculture for the development of social economy and area development and to combat narcotic drugs.
