Myanmar transfers a total of 50,619 foreigners including 48,803 Chinese citizens

Myanmar has transferred a total of 50,619 foreigners who are illegal residents in Myanmar, including 48,803 Chinese citizens to respective countries from 5 October 2023 to 8 February 2024 according to sources.

Myanmar government has been paying attention to local stability, peace and rule of law, including the border areas. As some illegal immigrants are residing in Myanmar through the border areas, the administrative organizations are conducting the necessary investigation and repatriating them to the relevant countries.

From 5 October 2023 to 8 February 2024, 50,619 foreigners who are illegal residents in Myanmar, including 48,803 Chinese citizens, 1,071 Vietnamese citizens, 537 Thai citizens, 133 Malaysian citizens, 20 Korean citizens and 18 Lao citizens, were identified and verified under the law. The authorities were able to repatriate them systematically.

The government will continue identifying and repatriating foreign nationals who have illegally entered and resided through the borders.
