Myanmar and China discuss stability in the border area

Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Senior-General Min Aung Hlaing met Mr Sun Weidong, Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in Nay Pyi Taw on January 5.

They discussed the promotion of frank cooperation between the two countries, plans to further promote cooperation between the two countries, and to build peace and stability in the border region between Myanmar and China and future programmes.

Present on the occasion were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, and officials. The Chinese Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was accompanied by Ambassador of China to Myanmar Mr Chen Hai and Mr Deng Xijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, and officials.
