Myanma Tatmadaw goodwill delegation visits Adani Ports and Logistics in India

Myanma Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services arrived in Mundra, India by special flight on July 27, where they were welcomed by Real Admiral Sanjay Roye of Indian Navy and officials, the Office of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services reported on July 28.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and party made a visit to Adani Ports and Logistics in Mundra, where the officials of Adani Ports & SEZ Limited (APSEZ) clarified flow of international import, arrivals of large container ships and worksite operation. After hearing the clarifications, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing asked the questions especially security in the face of danger what he wanted to know.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing observed occupational safety in the factory and progress of work carried out along where they were conducted by the Indian officials, according to the statement of the Office of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.

Adani Ports and Logistics is a deep seaport situated on Kutch gulf. It is also a port that large vessels can be berthed. It is a main entrance gate to transport commodities to inner part of India. It can stockpile crude oil, auto and other export and import items.

It is a port that large container ships can be berthed. It is also a largest port importing charcoal. It also supplies charcoal to Adani and TATA coal-fired power plants. These two coal-fired plants generate about 8,600 megawatt and they are fulfilling the power requirement of India in some degree.

Next, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and party proceeded to SEZ & Solar Panel Manufacturing Unit where they were conducted by the Indian officials. The Indian officials presented reports on energy generation to Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and party asked the questions what they liked, according to Office of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.

SEZ & Solar Panel Manufacturing Unit are producing solar slabs capable of generating energy without harming natural environment and it can output 1,200 megawatt a year. These solar slabs do not need to be installed with batteries separately. Solar slabs are being exported to the United States, the UK and European countries in addition to India.

Factories and industries concentrated in Mundra where there were about 10,000 people in 1998, but now the population reaches about 250,000 people. Most of the increased workers are employed at the factories and the industries.
