National Reconciliation and Peace Center (NRPC) and northern allies are still making negotiation for venue though the NRPC proposed to hold a meeting during July, said San Aung from Peace-talk Creation Group (PCG) which is making negotiation between government and northern allies.

The peace commission and northern allies met in Mongla on July 30 and the commission proposed to meet in third week of July. It also gave a draft proposal to sign preliminary ceasefire agreement drawn by the government to all four groups from northern allies.

“The venue to hold a meeting is still discussing. It will be held inside Myanmar but the northern allies are concerned about their safety,” he said.

The meeting may postpone as venue cannot be decided. Both sides will discuss preliminary ceasefire agreements proposed by both to have bilateral agreement, he said.

The government and army proposed to sign the nationwide ceasefire agreement within 90 days after having bilateral agreement, according to a Facebook account owned by Brigadier-General Tar Bone Kyaw, general secretary of the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA).
