Dinner hosted to commemorate 74th Anniversary Armed Forces Day

On behalf of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe attended the reception and dinner in commemoration of the 74th Anniversary Armed Forces Day in 2019 held on the lawns of Zeyathiri villa in Nay Pyi Taw this evening. To mark the 74th Anniversary Armed Forces Day, fireworks were set off from Armed Forces Day parade ground and Bayintnaung villa at the beginning of the dinner.

Next, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army)Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife, together with Union ministers and their wives, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air)General Mya Tun Oo and wife, Commander-in-Chief(Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw and wife,cordially greeted Chairman of Constitutional Tribunal U Myo Nyunt, Deputy Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw U Tun Tun Hein, Independence Mawgun first, second and third class award winners,retired senior military officers, chairpersons of Hluttaw committees, Tatmadaw Hluttaw representatives,families and relatives of Aung San Thuriya title winners, the officers and other ranks who won Thiha Thura titles, Thura titles and gallantry medals in 2018 and their heirs, representatives from ethnic signatories of Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), people’s militia and border guard advisory command groups, military attachés and officials of foreign embassies, Myanmar Police Force, Myanmar Fire Brigade and Myanmar Red Cross Society, members of Myanmar War Veterans Organization, members of the University Training Corps, artistes starring in the film “One Hundred and Ten Hours” and invited guests.

The Myawady Music Band of Directorate of Public Relations and Psychological Warfare of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and artistes starring in the film “One Hundred and Ten Hours” in commemoration of the Armed Forces Day performed before and during the dinner.

After the dinner, Myawady Anyeint troupe, soldiers of mobile public relations companies, and members of Myanmar Martial Art performed dances and songs as well as magic playing with orchestras to the attendees at Thabin Hall of Zeyathiri villa. Later, the Vice-Senior General and party presented bouquets to the entertainers.

Similarly, Tatmadaw families (Army,Navy and Air) paid respects to retired military officers who attended the 74th Anniversary Armed Forces Day at Zayarthiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw on March 27.

Thirty-one retired military officers and 18 wives attended the respect-paying ceremony.Also present were Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Union Minister Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe and wife, Union Minister Lt-Gen Sein Win and wife,Union Minister Lt-Gen Ye Aung and wife, and senior military officers (Army, Navy and Air) and wives.

On behalf of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Vice-Senior General Soe Win made respect-paying speech. The Vice-Senior General and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Union ministers and wives, and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, and attendees, on behalf of Tatmadaw (Army,Navy and Air) families, paid sincere respects to the retired military  officers according to Myanmar tradition.

On behalf of the retired military officers who received respects, Lt-Gen Tun Kyi (Retd), Lt-Gen Kyaw Ba (Retd) and General Thein Sein delivered speeches at the ceremony.
