China donates US$ 300,000 to NRPC

China donated US$ 300,000 to the National Reconciliation and Peace Center (NRPC), according to a statement by the NRPC on November 9.

Union Minister Kyaw Tint Swe, who is also the Vice-President of the NRPC, received Sun Guoxiang, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, at the meeting hall-2 of the Ministry of Myanmar State Counsellor’s Office in Nay Pyi Taw on the morning of November 9.

Afterwards, a ceremony to donate US$ 300,000 was held at the meeting hall-1 of the ministry. At the ceremony, Union Minister Kyaw Tint Swe extended a greeting. Sun Guoxiang explained the purpose of donation.

Union Minister Kyaw Tint Swe received US$ 300,000 donated by Sun Guoxiang and presented a certificate of honour to him. Afterwards, Deputy Minister Khin Maung Tin who is also the secretary of the NRPC spoke words of thanks.

The donation ceremony was also attended by the Chinese ambassador to Myanmar Hong Liang and other officials.

On November 8, the special envoy also met with Dr. Tin Myo Win, President of Myanmar Peace Commission at the NRPC in Nay Pyi Taw. At the call, they exchanged views on Myanmar’s peace-making process. Dr. Tin Myo Win received US$ 300,000 donated by the special envoy and presented a certificate of honour to him.
