Child killed after being hit by car carrying speakers in Mudon Township

A vehicle carrying speakers hit a child riding a bicycle from behind in Kawtkhait Monsu ward in Kwaytwan village, Mudon Township, at about 8:00 am on April 29, and the child died when arriving at hospital, according to local sources.

The car, when trying to go past  the child on a bike, hit him from behind. Then, the vehicle fled away. The child got serious injuries and admitted to Mudon hospital.

Maung Wai Yan Myo, aged 11, was from western part of Kalay Kanaingpyaing village. He was pronounced dead as he arrived at the Mudon hospital.

According to further information, the driver of the vehicle was arrested and investigation has been made.

During alms giving season and wedding season in Mon State, vehicles carrying speakers usually go round in town playing a loud music, according to locals.
