Heavy rains struck Kawthaung and Myeik in Tanintharyi Region early on May 31, , causing trees to topple onto rooftops. Officials from the Kawthaung District Fire Department swiftly responded, ensuring no injuries to residents or animals.
In Myeik, a tree obstruction occurred along the Myeik-Kyeku highway in Sandawut village tract, prompting intervention from the Myeik Township Fire Department to clear the road.
With the onset of the monsoon season, authorities have issued warnings to cargo and passenger vessels due to the inclement weather, including strong waves in the sea, posing potential risks to maritime activities in Tanintharyi Region.
