The military is continuing security operations along the ChaungU–Yesagyo route while carrying out rehabilitation measures, including mine-clearance activities, to facilitate the safe return of local residents to their homes, according to sources.
During ongoing clearance and security operations in the area of Nga Lone Tin Village, south of ChaungU along the ChaungU–Yesagyo road, troops reportedly discovered a reinforced concrete bunker built underground beneath a structure located in a field about 400 meters east of the village.
The military subsequently continued area-security operations along the route through Nga Lone Tin Village and secured the villages of Mahtitha and Min Khaung, which, according to military reports, had been used as bases by insurgent groups. The statement said the insurgents had fortified homes, religious buildings, and public facilities with sandbag bunkers and dug defensive trenches within village compounds.
The military is now conducting rehabilitation work, including the removal of debris and unexploded mines, to enable displaced residents to return as soon as possible. Security measures are also being maintained in the villages and surrounding areas to ensure stability and safety, the statement added.
