EV bus services are being expanded to Tatkon, Lewe, Ywadaw and other key areas across Nay Pyi Taw to improve public transportation for commuters, according to sources.
The Yazarmin Special Passenger Transport Bus Line is currently operating EV buses in cooperation with relevant departments and is working to extend services to additional townships to better serve travellers, government employees and students.
The existing city route begins at Nay Pyi Taw Myoma Market and passes the 1,000-bed General Hospital, Kankaw Housing, Thapyakone Market, Sipin Guesthouse, Zabuthiri Hospital, Pyan Ka Pyay Roundabout, Sin Yoke and Hnin Si Roundabout before terminating at Bawga Thiri Gate. A flat fare of 1,000 kyats is charged per passenger regardless of the boarding point.
Each EV bus has 36 seats and accommodates up to 20 standing passengers, allowing it to carry a maximum of 56 passengers safely.
Passengers pay their fare by placing the money in a designated fare box and press the stop button when approaching their intended destination to notify the driver.
