Health Minister Dr. Thet Khaing Win retires; two Deputy Ministers and Central Bank Deputy Governor also step down.
Dr. Soe Win Appointed as Health Minister; Two Supreme Court Judges Named.
Myanmar President’s Office issued orders on October 9 granting retirement to Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win, two deputy ministers from the health and education ministries, and a deputy governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar.
Under the orders, Dr. Thet Khaing Win was permitted to retire from his position as Union Minister for Health. Dr. Soe Win, who previously served as Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, was reassigned to the post of Union Minister for Health.
The orders also granted retirement to Deputy Minister for Education Dr. Zaw Myint, Deputy Minister for Health Dr. Aye Tun, and Central Bank of Myanmar Deputy Governor U Zaw Myint Naing.
Separately, the President’s Office announced the appointment of Dr. Myo Win Aung and U Saw Myo Myo as judges of the Supreme Court of the Union.
