Messenger experiences widespread outage, users temporarily unable to log in

Messenger, the messaging application used alongside Facebook, experienced a service disruption beginning at approximately 8:15 pm. on June 12, causing users to be unexpectedly logged out and unable to log back into their accounts.

One user reported that he was sending messages on Messenger when the application suddenly logged him out and repeatedly requested that he sign in again. Despite multiple attempts, he was unable to regain access. After contacting a friend by phone, he learned that the friend had experienced the same issue.

According to reports, the outage affected Messenger users broadly. While Facebook remained accessible on mobile devices, users were unable to access Facebook on computers until around 8:55 pm., when desktop services gradually resumed. However, Messenger users on mobile phones continued to experience login difficulties.

Beginning at approximately 9:00 pm., Messenger service started to recover on some mobile devices, although others remained unable to access the application.

By around 9:20 pm., Messenger services had been fully restored, and users on mobile devices were once again able to log in and use the application normally.
