Another illegal entry from Bangladesh tests positive

Another man illegally entering Myanmar from Bangladesh tested COVID-19 positive and close contacts were being quarantined.

He is a 25 years old Hindu man from Kyaing Chaung village, northern part of Maungdaw Township. He entered the border route on June 3 and the authority put him under quarantine at Hla Po Khaung camp on June 4. He was tested positive on June 8. He was moved to Maungdaw Hospital overnight. 

His relatives of about 19 people were put to quarantine on June 9 at Hla Po Khaung camp according to the Department of Public Health.

Among the under quarantine were Kyaing Chaung village administrators and shops were ordered to close and villagers stay at home according to locals. 

On May 30, from five family members illegally entering Myanmar from Bangladesh tested positive. He is case 234 and his close contacts of 34 people were put to quarantine. But, later, they tested negative. At present, there are 2 positive patients in Maungdaw and they are in stable condition.
