Since the initial clashes on March 7 in Thingan Nyinaung village near Myawady, ongoing fighting has plagued both the northern and southern areas of Myawady. Reports indicate a steady rise in displaced persons as a result of bomb explosions, heavy artillery, and the incineration of residential structures.

Reports indicate that residents from both inner and outer Mekanal, as well as Shwe Mya Sandi new satellite town near the Myawady trade zone, have abandoned their residences approximately three months ago, seeking refuge in Myawady to evade the conflict.

Furthermore, refugees reported that the houses in the inner Mekanal village were also engulfed in flames as a result of heavy weapon shell explosions.

In the aftermath of the conflict in Thingan Nyinaung on March 7, numerous civilians lost their lives due to artillery shell and bomb attacks. Additionally, a significant number of homes in Nyinaung Ywarthit ward and along both sides of Asia Road were destroyed by fire.

In the northern outskirts of Myawady, numerous houses in Whatshan village were ravaged by fire, resulting in the loss of many civilian lives. Concurrently, residents from Maepale and Zayat Phyu Kone villages are also fleeing their homes to seek safety from the ongoing conflict.

Amid clashes near Phalu, Yathegu, and Lakhat Mountain Tower Hill in the southern area of Myawady, civilians have sought refuge in monasteries along the border demarcation line. The prolonged conflict between the opposing sides has significantly disrupted the daily lives of those seeking to avoid the violence, leaving them in dire need of assistance from donors to sustain their livelihoods.

"A man assisting the internally displaced persons (IDPs) remarked, 'Where there is a large number of IDPs, donors readily provide support, ensuring sufficient donations for necessities. However, where the number of IDPs is less, donations also dwindle, leaving those in need with insufficient food and water.'"

There are about 50 IDPs in No.3 ward Hitadara monastery, 200 in Dhamma Yang Aung monastery, 200 elders from Thabarwa Yeikthar Hospital in BEHS.2, 50 in Kyankhin monastery, 500 in Yaypu Taung Paw monastery, 100 in Yaypu Taung Auk monastery, 50 in Yaypu Kyan Taing Aung monastery, 50 in Yaypu Lay Hmyat Hnar pagoda,  400 in Chaungsone monastery, 400 in Zayat Phyu Kone monastery, 200 in Whatshan school, 200 in Mekanal Mingalar Oo monastery, 50 in Mekanal Nagayon Pagoda, 200 in Mekanal Chan Myae Yeikthar, 150 in Myaynigone Bawdi Yeikthar, 50 in Shwe Mya Sandi Thitsar Thuta, 200 in Maehtaw Thalay monastery, and 100 in Nyaung Nan Thar monastery and majority of them are in need of food, according to social organization members.
