Since her teenage years, Shwe Hmone Yati has been a part of the entertainment community and emerged as a successful actress. She speaks with Eleven Media Entertainment Editor Lin Lin Khine about her career, health, dreams and her love life.

Q: Could you first tell me about how you prepared for the film : “Nga Mon Te Akayar”?

A: It is a family story. The film plot is simple in style but different character behaviours. I played an adopted daughter coming back home from abroad. I had to prepare special clothing and fashion for that film. I had to keep my focus centered on my character’s style. So, I paid more attention to its character.

Q: I heard that the director is U Nyi (Nyunt Myanmar Nyi Nyi Aung). So, could you tell me there is harmony between you and that director?

A: Especially with U Nyi, I have to especially get more into character. I think it will be one of those tiring films for me.

Q: You are looking fit and toned. Did you work out at the Gym for this film?

A: Yes, I gained a little bit of weight. I was initially looking to gain weight but now I don’t like it and going to reduce my weight. One of the weird thing about my psyche is that I keep thinking that it will be easy for me to lose all the weight I gained in one day.

Q: How is your health situation right now?

A: Absolutely perfect at the moment.  I had worked three months successively and was too exhausted. I had to be hospitalized for 10 days. Now, I’m fresh and have gained weight. Concerning my health, my mother and my loved ones take good care of me.  My mother also arranges my work schedule. For me, even I’m not well, I’m keen to work.

Q: Is the film “Nga Mon Te Akayar” a romance?

A: It is about the love between a daughter and her parents as well as romantic interests.

Q: We don’t see your photos a lot lately. Why?

A: I wasn’t feeling too well and so I don’t upload my photos on social media these days. I upload my photos especially when I’m going on a trip. I think, I am going to a trip next month and I’ll upload photos for my fans. Please enjoy them at that time.

Q: Are there any more films you’ve accepted?

A: After that one, I’ve accepted many more roles. “Nga Mon Te Akayar” is the very first film I will be working on after I was discharged from the hospital. As it will be a film in which I have to use full range of my emotions, I will take a short break after that film.

Q: Could you tell me about your selection process for roles?

A: If I have decide on choosing a character to play, I try not to repeat the same kind of character I’ve done before. Even if the character looks are the same, I have to think about bringing out a special characteristic differently which can make best use of what I can do. So, it makes me more tired.

Q: Concerning fashion, how do you arrange your fashion?

A: Some fashions of mine are accepted by fans but some are not.  There are some way of dressing that don’t suit me. And sometimes, I wear as I like.

Q: I heard that you are going to enter the business world. What are you going to do?

A: As I’m getting come of age, I’ve learnt how and what to do to run a business. But, I can’t say for sure what business I will devote into.

Q: Are there any things you would like to say to your fans?

A: Have a wonderful time in Thadingyut period and pay respect to parents and elders at this magnificent time.
