The authorities seized 13 fixed wing drones on the morning of April 4 at Nay Pyi Taw Airport and Zeyathiri Township, where the military headquarters are located, and the explosives contained in four fixed wing drones were destroyed, according to the information team of the State Administration Council (SAC).

The SAC announced seven fixed wing drones were initially shot down by the Air Defence Forces on the afternoon of April 4, and the number of fixed wing drones shot down was announced again in the evening.

The armed groups launched fixed wing drones from the places near Ela Township and Zeyathiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area about 10:30 am on April 4 and attempted to carry out explosive activities in important buildings and places in Zeyathiri Township and Ela Township.

The Air Defence Forces, which are carrying out aviation security duties in the Nay Pyi Taw Council area, detected such an attempt with air defense systems and were able to prevent all of these fixed wing drones, according to the announcement.

Because of this, two of the fixed wing drones exploded in the air before reaching their destination, and all the other fixed wing drones were also shot down. 13 of the fixed wing drones that crashed to the ground due to the interception of the launch were confiscated, and four of them had explosives and were systematically destroyed, according to the announcement.

The security forces are continuing to recover the fixed wing drones that crashed on the ground. There was no casualty and no damage to the building. The security forces are continuing to respond to emergency situations in a security manner, it said.

Regarding the attack, exile media quoted PDF Insight and NUG as reporting that 16 kamikaze drones attacked Nay Pyi Taw military headquarters and 13 kamikaze drones attacked Ela air force base on the morning of April 4. The attack was carried out by the PDF special forces and the Kloud Drone division of Shar Htoo Waw Technical Force against the military headquarters and the Lethal Prop unit of Shar Htoo Waw Technical Force on the Ela air force base.
