80-year old COVID-19 patient from Madaya tested negative twice

The 80-year old COVID-19 (case-132) patient from Madaya Township, Mandalay Region, admitted in Kandawnadi hospital in Mandalay, is tested negative twice and will be placed in facility quarantine, sources from the hospital said.

“The patient had tested negative for the second time last night (on May 5). So he will be discharged from the hospital and placed in facility quarantine. However the patient requested to stay at the hospital and we allowed him to stay at the hospital as there are vacant rooms at the hospital. Another patient, COVID-19 case-82, still tested positive and need to stay at the hospital. We tested five day a time if the result is positive and twice a time if the result is negative. Both of them are in good health,” said Dr Khin Kyaw, Medical Superintendent of the hospital.

The hospital has three COVID-19 patients: case-82 from Aungmyay Tharzan Township, case-132 from Madaya Township and case-04 from Chanmya Tharzi Township who was being discharged. A total of 577 people are under monitoring at six hospitals in Mandalay and stationed hospitals in the region till May 5 and 459 of them are allowed to be discharged from the hospital. More than 50 people are receiving treatment at the hospitals, according to true news information committee in related with the COVID-19 of the region.
