State banquet held in honour of Union Peace Conference

NAYPYITAW- To mark the third meeting of Union Peace Conference-21st Century Panglong, the state banquet was held at the Myanmar International Convention Centre-II in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday at night.

Union Peace Conference’s third meeting to commence today

 
The third meeting of Union Peace Conference also known as the 21st Century Panglong Conference is going to commence at MICC-2 in Nay Pyi Taw on July 11 and will end on July 16.
 
The ethnic leaders of Northern Alliance have been in Nay Pyi Taw on July 10 to attend the third meeting.
 

Internal conflicts handed down to us so far, but we need to pay special attention to avoiding grudge

 
It is required to pay special attention to keeping away from grudge as international conflicts have been handed down as an evil legacy so far, said Union Minister Kyaw Tint Swe of the Ministry of State Counsellor Office, Vice-Chairman of Union Peace Dialogue Joint Committee (UPDJC).
 
The remarks of the minister came from the 16th meeting of the UPDJC held in Nay Pyi Taw on July 9. 
 

Four Eights People’s Party changed into People’s Party

 
The Union Election Commission disallowed the name submission of Four Eights People's Party because of the widespread criticism. Accordingly, the party’s name was changed into the People’s Party. The logo and flag of the party were also approved, quoted a passage from the meeting minutes of the Political Party Organizing Committee. 
 

USDP to compete for majority of vacant seats in by-election

 

The opposition Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) will contest some vacant seats in states in the upcoming by-election scheduled for November 3.

UNDP Country Director Peter Batchelor and party called on San Kyaw Hla, Speaker of Rakhine State Parliament at the latter’s office on July 2.
 
At the meeting, UNDP Country Director Peter Batchelor clarified matters relating to the signing of MoU with the government and plans to conduct feasibility studies in three towns such as Maungdaw, Yathedaung and Buthidaung.
