Iron Cross performs greatest hits at anniversary concert

Popular rock outfit Iron Cross celebrated its 25th anniversary with a concert at Hmawsin Kyun last Sunday. The concert also marked Cherry FM’s anniversary. The venue was crowded with the fans.

In the concert, the rock band – consisting of Lay Phyu, A Nge, Myo Gyi and Y Wine – belted out their old and new greatest hits. Chit San Maung (on lead guitar), Khin Maung Thant (on bass), Banyar Naing (on keyboard), and Karan (on drums) wowed the crowd with their impressive skills and antics.

The show must go on

Ever since she started out on her showbiz career many years ago to pursue her dreams of stardom, Moe Yu San has appeared in a multitude of films and commercials, which have earned her widespread critical acclaim. Having recovered from a bout of illness, the actress is back on the scene with a new film and a traditional stage production. Renowned dance troupe to stage a comedic tribute to Aung San

The Aung San Thuriya Hnin Si Anyeint dance troupe will stage a performance to celebrate the birth centenary of Bogyoke Aung San on February 9 and 10 at the National Theater. Popular musicians will also take part in the troupe’s performance.

The all-star line-up includes Lin Lin, Htun Aeindra Bo and Khin Nyunt Yee.

‘House of Literature’ to open in Yangon

Norway’s Hedda Foundation is joining forces with Myanmar’s literary associations to establish the “House of Literature”, the first of its kind in Myanmar and Asia. The literary organisation will house literary associations and book clubs, hosts book launches, literary talks and workshop and organises writing fellowship programmes. 

Bobby Soxer to release solo album next month

Teen hip-hop idol Bobby Soxer will release her album titled "21" on February 8.

The album comprises 14 tracks including self-composed songs as well as tunes written by Hlwan Paing, Bunny Phyoe, and Thein Linn Soe. Featured in the album are several artists including Hlwan Paing, Kyaw Htut Swe, Irene Zin Mar Myint and Mi Sandi.

Tribute album celebrates Aung San’s birth centenary

Bo Bo Music Production has released a tribute album to Gen (Bogyoke) Aung San to celebrate his birth centenary and legacy."The tribute songs to Bogyoke that were added to last year's Art of Freedom Film and Music Festival didn't reach the public as we had intended. As the centennial of his birth falls on this year, we're going to release the award-winning songs and six other songs on the shortlist from a music contest.
