The Fever Clinic in Twantay Township, Yangon Region, was vandalized and things were stolen away on May 18, MP Dr Kyaw Zin Oo for the township said.

The clinic is being opened at Basic Education High School No (1) in Twantay Township for normal fever during the Covid-19 outbreak.

“It was like vandalism. Moreover, things in the clinic were stolen. Masks, thermometers and oximeters were stolen away. I think PPE suits remain there. But the damage will not cost much,” said the MP.

A suspect has been arrested and he confessed that he and his accomplice were responsible for the damage and stealth.

An official from Twantay Myoma Police Station said: “He pleaded guilty. He said he stole some of the things and another also took some. They are just young boys. Their families can afford for their living conditions. His mother was shocked by this.”

As private clinics closed in some townships of Yangon Regions, government has to open fever clinics.
