Tax revenue hits over 22 pc of target in December

Until December of 2018-2019 fiscal year, (IRD) Internal Revenue Department’s tax revenue reached over Ks 1369.958 billion, hitting 22.10 per cent of its target, according to its statement on January 16.

The total tax revenue comprises Ks 287.838 billion from the State-owned sector, Ks 0.537 billion from the cooperatives sector and Ks 1081.583 billion from the private sector.

The IRD collected Ks595.274 billion in income tax, Ks 462.019 billion in commercial tax, Ks 270.321 billion in special good tax, Ks 14.022 billion in stamp tax and Ks 28.322 billion in lottery tax.

Until October of 2018-2019 FY, the IRD’s tax revenues amounted to Ks 290.037 billion—Ks 58.760 billion from the State-owned sector, Ks 0.147 billion from cooperatives sector and Ks 231.130 billion from the private sector. It hit 4.68 per cent of its target.

The IRD collected Ks154.047 billion in income tax, Ks 81.650 billion in commercial tax, Ks 40.953 billion in special good tax, Ks 3.803 billion in stamp tax and Ks 9.584 billion in lottery tax.

Until November of 2018-2019 FY, the IRD collected the tax revenue of Ks 750.339 billion, hitting 12.10 per cent of its target. The total tax revenue comprises Ks 167.596 billion from the State-owned sector, Ks 0.273 billion from the cooperatives sector and Ks 582.470 billion from the private sector.

The IRD collected Ks328.419 billion in income tax, Ks 245.394 billion in commercial tax, Ks 149.233 billion in special good tax, Ks 8.285 billion in stamp tax and Ks 19.008 billion in lottery tax.
