State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi   replied that,  "As all of you know, there are many graduates without getting employed. It is one of the reasons that I want to change the education system. The number (1) reason is that I want all the public to understand that intellect doesn't mean people graduating from universities. We are encouraging vocational education system. Some believe that vocational education is inferior than academic education.  It is not. In the world's richest countries, there are vocational and academic education included. We can say that it is two different education system. In some countries, vocational education is superior than academic education. In our countries, when students finished their universities, they are not employed even though they are graduates. We are working for upgrading our education system. it shouldn't be like this because a student has spent all his/her year in education and unemployed. To change that system, and to get our citizens employed, we are working and at the same time, I want you to urged to encourage vocational education. There are many opportunities after one finished vocation education. I am saddened because of previous education system, youths are unemployed. I am working hard to change that system but it can't be change in one night. Keep going. Don't stay at home idly."

State Counsellor arrived Kalay, Chin State on January 20. From Kalay, she visited northern parts of Chin State such as Hakah, Htantalan, Phalam, Tiddim, and Reed for two days.
