A Peace Process Steering Team- PPST meeting of Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement- Signatories, Ethnic Armed Organizations (NCA-S EAO) took place at Horizon Lake View Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on January 7. 

In his opening speech, Restoration Council of Shan State Chairman and PPST temporary leader General Ywet Sit said all stakeholders have the responsibility to adopt mutually-acceptable resolutions and action plans as the Joint Implementation Coordination Meeting (JICM) are important. 

"We all have the responsibility to adopt resolutions and work plans that can be mutually acceptable. So we need to achieve success," General Ywet Sit said. 

He urged the NCA signatories to follow and respect the NCA provisions, calling for concerted efforts to establish a federal union with equality and autonomy in accord with the meeting resolutions. 

He then expressed thanks for being able to hold the eighth JICM in Nay Pyi Taw on January 8 (today). 

He said all the people are keen on hearing the results of the JICM. 

One day before the JICM on January 8, the PPST meeting was held while NCA signatories also held a coordination meeting on January 6.
