Yangon Region Parliament has approved the appointment of Deputy Mayor of Nay Pyi Taw Ye Min Oo as Yangon Region Minister for Planning and Finance.
The parliamentary approval was made as there was no objection during the second-session of the regional parliament’s emergency meeting held on June 3.
“On the first-day session of the meeting, I announced the region chief minister’s proposal for the appointment of a cabinet member. I also declared about any objection from members of parliament. But, no one objected. This is why I hereby announce that the appointment of U Ye Min Oo as Region Minister for Planning and Finance,” said Yangon Region Parliament speaker Tin Maung Tun.
His nomination was submitted to parliament on June 2 to fill the ministerial vacancy.
According to the biography of Ye Min Oo, he was among founders of AGD Bank and served as managing director. He served as chairman of Nay Pyi Tw Development Bank (formerly known as Nay Pyi Taw Sibin Bank) from January to July 2019. From July until now, he has served as Vice Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee and Deputy Mayor.
