Myanmar reports 2,590 new patients on Aug 19

Myanmar found 2,590 new COVID-19 confirmed cases on August 19 bringing total number of patients to 365,759, according to an announcement from Ministry of Health.

A total of 11,546 samples are tested between 8 pm of August 18 and 8 pm of August 19 and found 2,590 patients. 159 more people died from the virus bringing total number of death tolls to 13,945, according to a report from the ministry.

It said 147 samples tested in labs under the ministry, 26 samples tested using GeneXpert machines in hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw, all regions and states, 33 samples tested at No.1 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Yangon, 112 samples tested at No.2 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw, 25 samples tested at private hospitals and labs, 394 samples tested using COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test in hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw, all regions and states and 1,853 samples tested using COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test in public health departments in regions and states, are found infected with the virus.

A total of 3,395,125 samples are tested till August 19 and 3,894 people are allowed to be discharged from the hospital bringing total number to 286,775, it said.
