The Myanmar Embassy in Seoul, South Korea announced on February 20 that there are grievances of students in the payment of education fees to schools in South Korea through intermediaries, and the necessary verifications will be made by connecting with the relevant authorities.

The statement stated that the payment of school fees and course fees to be paid to schools according to the period of study must be made directly through banks in Myanmar to the designated bank accounts of these universities by Myanmar nationals who will come to attend courses at universities and Korean language schools in South Korea, after being admitted to the relevant schools and the universities and those who are not able to transfer money directly, they are making money through acquaintances living in the South Korea and some education service companies.

Some of their friends on the South Korean side and companies do not actually make payments to the respective schools, so those who will come to study in South Korea from Myanmar are suffering losses. They submitted evidence to the Myanmar Embassy in South Korea and complaining about it. In order to avoid the transfer of education costs which will result in unwanted losses and the occurrence of disputes and lawsuits, the transferors should transfer money only after careful investigation before transferring it and not to make hasty transfers. The Myanmar Embassy in Seoul announced that it will liaise with the relevant authorities and carry out the necessary inspections.
