Residents reported that seven houses were destroyed in a fire in Katha Ward (1) of Sagaing Region on the evening of March 16.

A resident of Katha said that the fire started at 4:30 pm on March 16 and was extinguished at 6:00 pm.

"The fire started from the wooden houses. The wooden houses were burnt down to ashes. Two three-story buildings were engulfed in flames. There were 7 houses in total. There were people whose clothes were destroyed in the fire. If it wasn't for the people who put out the fire, it could have burned even more," said a participant in putting out the fire.

The cause of the fire is being investigated, and according to the locals, it started from the explosion of a gas cylinder and the burning of garbage.
