Myanmar continues carp export to Bangladesh

As Myanmar continues to export carp to Bangladesh through the Maungdaw border in Rakhine State, nearly 200,000 kilos of carp worth over US$180,000 was exported in November, according to Maungdaw Border Merchants Association.

Cold-storage vehicles carrying fish for export are coming to Maungdaw border as the open season has come. In November alone, US$184,410 was earned from exporting 199,000 kilos of carp via the border point of entry.

However, in comparison with October, November's carp export decreased a little. In October, over 380,000 kilos was exported.

According to monthly data, over 90,000 kilos of carp was exported to Bangladesh in June, over 220,000 kilos in July, over 330,000 kilos in August, nearly 300,000 kilos in September and over 385,000 kilos in October.

In November, Maungdaw border trade camp exported carp, various kinds of dried fish, rice, bamboo and other regular products.
