MOEE provides electricity for over 130,000 households in Mdy region

Ministry of Electricity and Energy (MOEE) is providing electricity for over 130,000 households from 2016 to present, said Win Khaing, Union Minister for Electricity and Energy on October 14.

He said the ministry provided electricity to over 130,000 households in 568 villages from March 2016 to present.

“The electricity consumption rate is increasing at a rate of 15 per cent annually in Mandalay region. The ministry provided electricity over 700,000 family households out of over 1.3 million family households. It is about 54 per cent of total family households in the region,” said the union minister.

The ministry and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) provided K15 billion to build 132/66 KV/ 60 MVA transformer at Latpanhla sub-power station, 20-mile length of power cable in Latpanhla-Zayetkwin power grip, 66/33 KV/ 20 MVA sub-power station at Thabeikkyin, about 40-mile length of power cable in Zayetkwin-Kyanyut power grip, 66/33 KV/ 15 MVA and 33/11 KV/ 5 MVA sub-power station at Kyanyut, about 30-mile length of 33 KV power grip, 33/11 KV/ 5 MVA sub-power station at Twinnge, 33/11 KV/ 5 MVA sub-power station at Tagaung, about 40-mile length of 11 KV power grip for respective villages, about 30-mile length of 400 V power grip, to install 30 0.4 KV transformers and to upgrade 31-mile length of 33 KV Zayetkwin-Mogok power grip into 66 KV Zayetkwin-Mogok power grip.
