Yangon Region government's tender acceptance and assessment committee has invited design and build tenders for upgrading Tamwe temporary market on 3.792 acres of land on Kyaikkasan Road in Tamwe Township into a modern market.

The tender announcement was made on January 21.

Local companies already registered in the government's tender scrutiny and supervisory committee are invited to invest in building modern Tamwe Market.

Applications and documents for tender process can be bought from the market department of Yangon City Development Committee in Kyauktada Township during office hours as of January 22.

Complete documents must be submitted to the said department not later than 3 pm on January 22.

Under the previous Thein Sein government, plans were made to build modern Tamwe Market in 2012. The move however was failed following objection from the shopkeepers. Then, the incumbent government invited letters of EOI (expression of interest) last year.
