A mass rally in support of amending the 2008 Constitution was staged in Thumingalar Park in South Okkalapa Township, Yangon Region on April 7.

Some members of Sangha came to prohibit former captain Nay Myo Zin and writer Htin Lin Oo in the name of nationalist from talking.

Some members of Sangha told that they did not intend to disrupt the protest in support of constitutional amendment, but they did not want former captain Nay Myo Zin and writer Htin Lin Oo in the name of nationalist to talk there.

“We don’t intend to disrupt the rally. The constitution should be amended. We support it, either. But we don’t want former captain Nay Myo Zin and writer Htin Lin Oo to talk. We come here for this,” said members of Sangha.

Michael Kyaw Myint accompanying members of Sangha said, “Htin Lin Oo usually insults Buddhism. Most people believe in Buddhism. He already received punishment as he insulted religion. For that reason, I came here to object to him.”
