SEMENYIH: Malaysia's former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said he is a thief of the people’s hearts.

In response to Eonomic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali’s remarks that he is a “pencuriku” and not “bossku”, Najib said he has stolen the people’s hearts.

“I am a thief of people’s hearts,” he said at Tesco Semenyih on Wednesday night (Feb 13).

He added that he did not expect such an overwhelming reception in Semenyih.

Donning a black hoodie, he went through the maze of groceries in the hypermarket, all the while surrounded by a large group of people.

He was seen to be picking out some fruits and vegetables.

When asked about the prices in Tesco, he said he could not properly assess the prices because of the crowd.

“But the comments seem to be that things are expensive,” he said.

Some in the crowd were sporting colourful "Bossku" T-shirts, and many were clamouring to take selfies with him.

Also present were Umno supreme council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam and former Umno Semenyih assemblyman Datuk Johan Abdul Aziz.
