As a measure to curb the spread of Covid-19, a bus line company in Yangon is carrying out the disinfection of buses.

"Ludu's Partner Public Co., Ltd operating bus lines No.32, 78, 93, 94 and 97 is spraying disinfectant on its buses at least three times a day,” said U Nay Pyi Tun, manager of the YBS No.94. 

Due to the shortfall of disinfectant and masks in the market, the company has to place an order from BPI three days ahead, he added. 

As a precautionary measure to prevent the spreading of Covid-19, the government has banned mass gatherings, events, and festivals and closed schools, bars, KTV till 30 April. The public bus lines are operating normally. 

“Despite the Covid-19 fears, the people have to go to their works for their daily survival. There is no significant decline in the number of daily commuters,” said U Tun Tun Hlaing, a driver from YBS No.94.
