The International Relations Committee of the Parliament should not keep silent on debates and persuasions to take action being discussed by foreign parliaments based on fake information and propaganda about Myanmar's political sphere and should refute their accusations, military MP Lieutenant Colonel Zaw Tun Oo pointed out.

The military MP made the remark in his discussion over the report submitted by the committee during a session of Lower House held in Nay Pyi Taw on December 20.

"In congresses of some countries, lawmakers are debating Myanmar's internal affairs and persuading their governments to take action based on incorrect news and propagandas. We should not keep silent. So the committee should always monitor and rebut their accusations in the interest of our country," said the MP.

He said the role of International Relations Committee is important as national power index includes national defense, economy, international relations, human resource development and infrastructural development.

In the field of international relations, some countries intentionally want to influence or control other small countries and export their policies, the committee itself should keep a watchful eye of their attempts. In this context, the committee should submit suggestions and reviews if necessary, said the military MP.

"We have learnt that oversight plans have been drawn in the parliamentary committees of some countries. So our committee should also draw an oversight plan in engaging in the affairs of international relations. Through the effective and extensive work of the committee, the international community will hear the voice of our parliament and people. We can respond to the misunderstanding of some other countries and parliaments to a certain degree," the MP suggested.
