A homemade bomb exploded in front of the Hilton Hotel on 66th street between 26th and 20th streets in Mandalay on March 3 at around 8 am.

The bomb exploded in front of the Hilton Hotel in Pyigyi Myatman Quarter, Chanayethasan Township, Mandalay after a cleaner found a suspected pink box.

A cleaning staff from Mandalay City Development Committee found a pink box under a tamarind tree about five feet from the hotel fence and alerted nearby security forces. The bomb exploded after the authorities were observing it from the distance.

The blast shattered two windows of the hotel, damaged four feet of platform pedestals and no one was injured in the blast.
