Former presidential spokesman under NLD govt. Zaw Htay dies of heart attack

U Zaw Htay, former spokesperson of the President Office under the National League for Democracy government, passed away at about 9am today, said Major General Zaw Min Tun, spokesperson of the State Administration Council (SAC).

Asked about U Zaw Htay’s death news, the SAC spokesperson told The Daily Eleven: “Yes, he died this morning. I think it was a heart attack. He was first sent to hospital from his home in a rush. At about 8.30am, it appeared that he was suffering from a heart attack with his check pains. So, he was sent to the 1000-bed Nay Pyi Taw hospital. We then received information that he died at about 9am.”

The major general added that officials from the SAC office were giving help for the funeral of U Zaw Htay.
