Myanmar’s CMP export volume reached nearly US$ 2 billion from October 1 to March 1 in 2018-2019 FY, up US$ 880 million compared with that of the same period of last year and it is standing as the largest product in the export sector, said a source from the Ministry of Commerce.

“Until March 1 of this fiscal year, CMP export volume reached US$ 1.932 billion, up US$ 878 million compared to that of the same period of last year, said Assistant Secretary Khin Maung Lwin of the Ministry of Commerce.

“Myanmar earns average 10 % of sewing fee. Some countries earn only 8 % and some 12 %. Sewing fee varies according to quality,” said Khine Khine Nwe, Secretary of Myanmar Garment Entrepreneurs Association.

Myanmar earns about US$ 300 million from CMP enterprise annually. If FOB is allowed in CMP, the country will earn about US$ 3 billion, according to Myanmar Garment Entrepreneurs Association.
