Kyauktan Sanpya village, Hopone Township, Pa-O Self-Administrative Zone, will host the Cherry Blossom Festival on January 21 at 3:00 pm, the organizing committee announced.

The festival, which has been held for four or five years, attracts many visitors who admire the village’s cherry trees, planted 20 years ago to make the village green and beautiful.

Some of the trees are foreign species that take longer to bloom. This year, the festival will be smaller due to the COVID pandemic, but it will also feature the final match and award giving ceremony of the village’s football tournament, which started in early January and involved more than 30 teams.

The organizing committee warned the public not to pluck the flowers or break the branches of the cherry trees.
