A fire broke out while transferring gas from a large 48 kg gas cylinder to a small gas cylinder in Mandalay on May 31.

As a result of the incident, 13 men and seven women were injured and were taken to the hospital for treatment and as of June 5, five people have died due to severe injuries.

The fire broke out due to a gas leak while transferring gas from a large 48 Kg gas cylinder to a small gas cylinder in the ground floor of a two-story building located between 81st and 82nd Streets and between 32nd Street and 33rd Street in East Ward of Aung Nang Avenue, Chanayethazan Township, Mandalay City at about 9:40 am on May 31.

The fire burnt down a two-story building, a warehouse and upper floor of a two-story building. A Level (2) fire trucks went to put out the fire and it was completely extinguished at 10:23 am.

A total of 13 men and seven women were injured and had to be taken to the hospital.

Police filed a case against two men at No. (8) Police Station in Chanayethazan Township under Section 285, 337/338 of the Penal Code.
