Border trade value hits over $4,300m in five months

Myanmar has earned US$4,300 million from border trade over the past five months in the current fiscal year, exceeding over US$320 million compared to the same period of last year, said an official from the Ministry of Commerce.

From October 1 to March 8 in current 2018-2109 fiscal year, border trade valued hit US$4,331.212 million while the same period of last year saw US$4,007.834 million. Therefore, the amount this year has exceeded US$323.378 million.

Muse Trade Camp on Myanmar-China border earned US$2,192.804 million in five months this year. As the border trade value at the camp in the same period of last year amounted to US$2,781.108 million, this year saw a fall of US$588.314 million, which resulted from decreased export.

In the five-month period this year, export value at the Muse camp amounted to US$1,442.634 million.

Myanmar border trade camps are located in Muse, Lwejal, Chinshwehaw, Kanpaiktee, Kengtung, Tachilek, Myawady, Kawthoung, Myeik, Nabule /Htikhee, Mawtaung, Mese, Sittway, Maungtaw, Tamu, Reed and Htantalan.
