Police forces under the Myanmar Police Force at the Ministry of Home Affairs are found to misuse Ks over 610 million, according to the six-month audit report from April to September 2018, submitted by Union Auditor-General Maw Than, at the session of the Union Parliament on December 17. 

“The audit findings of the Myanmar Police Force under the Ministry of Home Affairs were presented by powerpoint slides. Hopan District Police Office misused Ks 407.409 million, No.4 Security Police Force (Shwesaryan) in Mandalay, Ks 87.894 million, No.3 Police Training School in Sagaing, Ks 100.505 million and No.1 Oil Field Security Force in Yenanchaung, Ks 20.853 million. Apart from Hopan District Police Office, all other police forces have returned their misused money to the relevant accounts," Union Auditor-General Maw Than added. 

The Union Auditor-General suggested that efforts should be made for the return of misused money from Hopan District Police Office. The interdepartmental supervisory system is required for the headquarters and offices and departments in the regions and states. 

Lower House MP Aung Min from Zalun Township, who is also vice-chair of the Joint Bill Public Account Committee submitted the Joint Bill Public Account Committee’s report on findings and remarks on the six-month audit report. 

The MPs who want to debate the joint bill committee’s report can register their name at the Director-General of the Union Parliament Office, by December 20. The rest will be discussed at the 15th regular session of the parliament, Union Parliament Speaker T Khun Myat.
