During the 2023 Mid-Year Gems Emporium held from October 20 to 28 in Nay Pyi Taw, 300 pearl lots, 73 gem lots and 3,704 jade lots were sold, the Ministry of Information has reported.
The last day of the emporium was held on October 28. On that day, a total of 792 jade lots from Group-C were put on sale to local gem merchants in Myanmar kyats under the open tender system to improve MSME industries, and 779 jade lots were sold.
All of the 300 pearl lots on sale and 73 out of 160 gem lots on sale were also sold to local and foreign gem merchants obtaining higher prices.
In addition, 3,704 jade lots were sold out while 520 jade lots from Group-A, 1,733 jade lots from Group-B and 1,792 jade lots from Group-C were put on on sale at the emporium to local and foreign gem merchants under the open tender system.
The emporium was organized by the Myanmar Gems Emporium Central Committee for nine days at Maniyadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw with the aim of generating foreign income and economic benefits for the country and improving the micro, small and medium enterprises.
