Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a goodwill visit to Thailand, was welcomed by Gen. Tarnchaiyan Srisuwan, Chief of Defence Force of the Royal Thai Armed Forces with a Guard of Honour, in front of the latter’s office, on June 25.
On arrival at the Office of Chief of Defence Force of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, the Chief of Defence Force of the Royal Thai Armed Forces introduced senior military officers of the Royal Thai Armed Forces to the Senior General and party.

The ruling National League for Democracy has set target for the amendment to much-criticised 2008 Constitution that is capable of designing democracy as it is of great importance for the people, said Nyan Win, spokesperson of the ruling NLD.
The remarks of the ruling NLD’s spokesperson came from the press conference following the Second Nationwide Conference of the NLD held in Nay Pyi Taw on June 24.

Judges at the International Criminal Court have given Myanmar a deadline to respond to a prosecution request that they consider hearing a case on the alleged deportation of Bengalis to Bangladesh.
In a decision published on June 21, the judges asked Myanmar to reply by July 27 to the request made in April that the ICC should exercise jurisdiction over the alleged crimes.

Christine Schraner Burgener, special envoy of United Nations Secretary-General to Myanmar, held a closed-door meeting with international diplomats at Chatrium Hotel in Yangon on June 21.
The closed-door meeting took place at Chatrium Hotel in Yangon on June 21 and it was learnt that journalists had not been invited to the event. Accordingly, no journalists knew what topics were focussed on.

Delegate groups from the government, parliament and military began a preparatory workshop ahead of the third round of the Union Peace Conference also called the 21st Century Panglong Conference at the National Reconciliation and Peace Centre in Nay Pyi Taw on June 19.
At the three-day workshop that will end on June 21, the delegates will be discussing preparations for five sectors to be discussed at the peace conference.
