Yangon residents said that it was raining in most townships in the city, with hail in some places.
Starting from the afternoon of March 13, strong winds and rain began to fall in some townships.
“There are strong winds in Ahlone. It is also raining,” said a resident of Ahlone township.
It is also raining in Kyauktada, Panbedan, Latha, Pazuntaung, Botahtaung, and Mingalar Taungnyunt townships.
“It is windy and rainy in Yangon. There is also hail. Friends who have to go out, please take care,” a business that provides services for issuing vehicle licenses posted on social media.
Due to the northeast monsoon current moving in the South China Sea, clouds coming from Thailand and clouds coming from southern Myanmar, light to moderate rain and thundershowers will occur in Myanmar from March 12 to 16, and the upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and southern, northern and eastern Shan states are likely to experience heavy rain. Due to the heat from the land, the rest of the states and regions are likely to experience cloudy, drizzly and scattered light rain. Although there is no heavy rain, there is a need to be aware of strong winds and hail. There is no risk of flooding, said U Win Naing, a weather observer.
