Suspects involved in online gambling fraud were arrested along with operational equipment in Suan Saw Ward, Muse Township, according to sources.

The government has been carrying out joint search and seizure operations across various states and regions through teams made up of security personnel and departmental officials. As part of these operations, authorities arrested 28 foreign nationals and Myanmar citizens allegedly involved in online gambling fraud during a raid in Muse Township, northern Shan State, on the evening of May 28.

Security forces raided a house in Suan Saw Ward at around 3:30 pm after receiving information that online gambling fraud activities were being conducted there. During the operation, authorities arrested four Chinese men, one Chinese woman, three Myanmar men, and 20 Myanmar women, totaling 28 suspects.

Authorities also seized equipment allegedly used in the operations, including 96 mobile phones, 35 all-in-one computers, one laptop, one large power station, one small power station, three WiFi devices, and five battery-powered bicycles.

Officials said that legal action will be taken against illegal foreign nationals and individuals involved in online gambling scams in accordance with existing laws after investigations are completed.

The government stated that it will continue cooperating with neighboring countries, regional partners, and international organizations in efforts to combat online gambling scams and prevent such operations from being established in Myanmar.
