A man was killed, another was injured and a vehicle was damaged when a homemade mine exploded on the Bilin-Taungsun Road near Kawkaduk Village in Bilin Township, according to locals.
The explosion of a homemade mine planted in a toddy-palm tree near the iron bridge on the Bilin-Taungsun Road near Kawkaduk Village in Bilin Township hit U Zaw Hein Aung lived in Taungsun Village, Bilin Township, who was riding a motorcycle, in right side of his chest and killed and Ko Hein Lin Soe lived in Zout Thot village, who was riding a motorcycle, suffered a fractured right arm, at around 6:30 pm on June 5, a local said.
He continued, “The explosion was huge and the toddy-palm tree fell on a car driven by U Tin Htwe Oo of Ward (16) of Shwe Paukkan Township, Yangon Region, causing damage to the vehicle.”
In addition, the local said that security forces and relevant officials were inspecting unlicensed vehicles near the scene of the incident, and they were also injured.
Recently, shootings, mine attacks, and assassinations have been frequented in Bilin Township, Mon State. On June 3, Daw Thida Soe, the chairperson of the Thitto Kyun Social Assistance and Relief Organization from Thitto Kyun Village, Bilin Township, was shot and killed by two unknown gunmen.
