A young boy drowned while swimming with another boy at Lake in Aung Chan Thar Ward, Thanlyin Township, according to the Myanmar Fire Services Department.

The incident occurred at around 2 p.m. on May 11 in Aung Chan Thar Ward, Thanlyin Township, Yangon Region, where two boys reportedly got into difficulty while swimming in the lake.

After receiving the report, firefighters from the Thanlyin Township Fire Station, accompanied by a fire engine and rescue personnel, carried out search and rescue operations at the scene.

At around 3:25 p.m., rescuers recovered one boy’s body, while the other boy was found alive. Ambulances from the Sagarwar Social Assistance Association and the Lawka Alin Tan Social Assistance Association transported both boys to Thanlyin People’s Hospital, the Myanmar Fire Services Department said.
