Security and Stability Are Essential for Chin State's Recovery, Deputy Construction Minister Says

Deputy Minister for Construction U Myo Myint said that security and stability are fundamental to the successful implementation of rehabilitation efforts in Chin State and urged local residents to work together to maintain peace in their communities.

The Deputy Minister made the remarks on June 28 during a coordination meeting in Chin State attended by members of the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee, government officials, religious leaders, community elders, and committee members responsible for rehabilitation and reconstruction activities.

During a meeting in Tedim Township with religious leaders, pastors, and clergy, U Myo Myint stressed that maintaining security and stability is the key prerequisite for rehabilitation efforts. He called on local communities to cooperate in preserving peace and encouraged continued efforts to promote regional development.

The Deputy Minister and his delegation later held a coordination meeting with community elders, government officials, and members of the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee. During the meeting, community representatives presented the region's needs and concerns.

In response, U Myo Myint coordinated with relevant government departments and committee members, urging all stakeholders to work together on rehabilitation and reconstruction projects and to implement them without delay. He emphasized that regional peace and stability are essential for development and called on community leaders and government officials to continue working toward lasting stability and economic progress.

Following the meeting, the Deputy Minister and his delegation visited the Tedim Township Electricity Engineering Office to inspect a 300-kVA diesel power plant supplying electricity to Tedim.

Officials said that electricity for Tedim is currently being generated from two 200-kW units at the Zalwi Hydropower Plant, producing a combined 240 kW, together with 180 kW supplied by the 300-kVA diesel power plant, which is being distributed to the town.
