Myanmar Presidential Office spokesperson Dr. Khine Khine Soe said that Daw Aung San Su Kyi is currently serving prison sentences after being prosecuted and convicted under the law, and therefore is not permitted to meet with international representatives.
Dr. Khine Khine Soe also stated that Daw Aung San Su Kyi is in very good health and continues to receive regular medical check-ups.
She made the remarks during a press briefing held by the Presidential Office in Nay Pyi Taw on the afternoon of June 30, responding to a media question regarding Daw Aung San Su Kyi's health condition and a request by the ASEAN Special Envoy to meet with her.
"Daw Aung San Su Kyi's health condition is very good. There are no problems and no difficulties at all. She is in excellent health. She is also receiving regular medical examinations," Dr. Khine Khine Soe said.
Responding to a question on whether Daw Aung San Su Kyi had met with the ASEAN Special Envoy, Dr. Khine Khine Soe said, "Daw Aung San Su Kyi has been prosecuted and convicted under the law and is currently serving her sentence. Therefore, she cannot meet with international representatives. She may be able to do so only after completing her sentence, if permission is granted. At present, since she is serving her sentence, such a meeting is not possible."
